Itinerary:

1330hrs Depart from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort road journey takes approximately 2 hours

1530hrs Arrive at Garama River Lodge some few kilometers away from the busy highway. A lodge surrounded by mangrove swamps, forest filled with their own distinctive beauty.

1600hrs Go on board a comfortable river cruise for 1-1 1/2 hour in this red river (effect of tree’s tannin) with lush greenery of the mangrove trees made possible for Proboscis Monkey to be spotted, most of the time in the trees feeding on young leaves, shoots, sour fruits and seeds. In addition, u will have the opportunity to observe the other type or primate, the Long-Tailed Macaque, the rare Silver languor, local water buffalo crossing the river and variety of birds. One may also enjoy our beautiful sunset while cruising back to the river lodge.

1800hrs Upon arriving at the lodge, sumptuous BBQ dinner is being served in buffet line.

1830hrs After dinner, a short walk to the swamp area to catch a glimpse of fireflies decorating the mangroves trees like a Christmas tree. Then, depart for Kota Kinabalu after 10-15 minutes of firefly watching.

2100hrs Estimated time of arrival in Kota Kinabalu. End of tour.

Wildlife Park is located at old Penampang-Papar road, about 15km from Kota Kinabalu city. The visitors can see Borneo and Malaysia wild animals such as orang utan, proboscis monkey, Asian elephant, rhino, hornbill birds, tiger, etc. Open daily.

Depart lodge at 7.30am for about 4 hours drive through scenic countryside to the north of Borneo, Kudat, passing views of paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation, local stalls selling handicraft and food items. Arrive Bavanggazo Village for visit to the Rungus Longhouse. Built entirely using local materials, it is a home to the Rungus community, a sub-tribe of the Kadazandusun. Traditional native lunch will be served at the longhouse.

Continue your journey for about 1 hour to Simpang Mengayau or also known as The Northern Tip of Borneo. Enjoy the scenic view of the beautiful long white beaches where two oceans -South China Sea and Sulu Sea meet.

Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.

0830 – Depart from Borneo BeacHouse and proceeds on a 11/2 hour journey by air-conditioned coach or van to Kiulu River. Upon arrival, a 15 minutes briefing will be given by the chief rafter about the safety and excitement of the river. (Everyone is expected to carry the raft down to the riverbank ). It will take about 1-1/2 hours to reach end point, where BBQ lunch will be served.

After lunch, transfer back to Kota Kinabalu / Borneo Beachouse.

0730 – Pick up from Borneo Beachouse, proceed on a 11/2 hour drive in an air-con coach or van to Beaufort Railway Station. A trainride of about 11/2 hours will bring to PANGI Station, the starting point of the rafting. Light snack will be served followed by a 15 minutes briefing by the chief rafter about the safety and excitement of the river (You’re then required to carry the raft down to the riverbank). Normally, it takes about 1 to 2 hours to raft down the river ending at the Rayah Train Station.

BBQ lunch will be served before the train arrives to take you back to Beaufort. Arrive Kota Kinabalu / Borneo Beachouse by late evening.
